Audio & Video

The WLC has an audio/video editing room available for reservation that offers a variety of different resources fit for many tech needs. Reservations are available to all current students in credit-bearing courses and faculty, but priority is given to multimedia projects for credit-earning classes since space is limited. The room accommodates 1-2 people.

What can you do?

  • Edit video in iMovie or Premiere Pro
  • Record and edit simple audio or voiceovers in Audacity
  • Edit audio with Audition
  • Graphic design using Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign
  • Screen record with Camtasia

Need gear for your project? We’ve got cameras (DSLR, video, GoPros), audio and lighting equipment, and accessories you can borrow for up to three days—just stop by, no appointment needed. Our staff will make sure everything’s ready to go and can give you quick tips, with class projects getting first priority.

To view our catalog of camera equipment, please see our equipment collection. Available equipment may be checked out at the Technology Studio during normal operating hours.

If you'd like to learn more about how to set up or use the camera equipment, book a camera equipment consult in the WLC Student Portal.

Professional Headshots

Consultants at the Technology Studio are available to assist with taking professional headshots, from equipment setup and finding the best background to editing. Students may also reserve time to take their own headshots in our media production room. Students can book a headshot appointment in the WLC Student Portal by selecting Request Services>Technology>Headshots. Each person requiring a headshot will need their own appointment. This room accommodates a maximum of 3-4 people. If you have questions about bringing in a group for headshots, please contact techstudio@richmond.edu.
