  • How can I make an appointment?

University of Richmond students currently enrolled in credit-bearing courses can log in to the WLC Student Portal to book appointments. Appointments can be booked up to 12 hours in advance for most services. Many of our services also offer drop-in hours, which do not require advanced booking. See our service pages for additional information.
  • What are drop-ins?

Drop-in hours allow students to meet with our consultants and tutors without needing to book an appointment in advance. Each service’s drop-ins have unique times and locations, so be sure to check the schedule before you arrive. Additional details can be found on our service pages and the WLC Student Portal.

  • What are embedded tutors and consultants?

Some of our services (e.g., Content Tutoring, Speech Studio, Writing Studio) allow faculty or instructional staff members to request an assigned consultant or tutor for their course section(s). The support offered varies depending on the service type and the faculty or staff member’s request. Support can include 1:1 appointments with students, drop-in hours, class attendance, and/or class visits to the Weinstein Learning Center. Your instructor will provide additional information about how your class will work with the embedded tutor or consultant.

  • How can I collaborate with the WLC?

We welcome collaboration across campus departments! For workshop, class visit, or other event requests, please contact us at wlc@richmond.edu.
  • How do I become a WLC student employee?

All Weinstein Learning Center student employees participate in an application and interview process. Open positions are posted in Workday. Once selected, candidates will be prompted to complete pre-employment paperwork if they have not yet held a job on campus, and then they will begin position-specific training. WLC student employees engage in ongoing training throughout their time in their roles.

Some positions require a faculty referral or letter of recommendation. You will be notified of this requirement during the application process.
